About Me

My name is Sophia Copeland and I am a junior at Muhlenberg College in Allentown PA. I am originally from the Philadelphia area where I still reside. I am working to complete my degree in June 2023. I am a double major in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management, and Theater, with a concentration in Acting. I also have a minor in Film Studies. I am passionate about my studies, leading me to have made Dean’s List every semester. Outside of my involvement in our Theater program, I am a part of our Queer Book Club on campus which allows me to participate in two of my favorite activities – reading and discussing social and political issues. In my free time I also enjoy writing, experimenting with film making and video editing, and exploring nature. My proudest achievement is my work ethic demonstrated through my current employment. I value independence and hard work so I work three jobs on top of my complex degree, on campus involvement, and explorations of my creative passions. I am currently employed in our college Advancement office, where I have been working since Freshman year. I run their Muhlenberg Alumni social media channels, make daily website updates to our section of the Muhlenberg College website, run data analytics on our online content, create mass emails about events and donations opportunities, and so much more. Additionally, I am the Assistant Director of the Non Profit Organization End Overdose Together. Our Organization provides trainings on substance use disorder and how to administer Narcan. We also provide free Narcan kits to members in need in our community. We have an online training that can be taken anywhere and mail free shipments of Narcan to anyone who takes our training. I am also employed at Target as a Style Consultant which has taught me wonderful organizational and interpersonal skills. Next year, during my senior year, I will be embarking on a study abroad journey to pursue my passions of travel and making diverse global connections. I travel every chance that I get. My passion began when I was 14 and my school chose me as the French class student to go abroad and stay with a French family with a month. I will be continuing this passion as I will be completing my Theater major at Larry Singer Studios in NYC in the fall semester and then finishing my Business major at Griffith University in Australia in the spring semester. Both programs are internship intensive programs where I hope to gain a vast array of new work experiences. Post grad I am interested in pursuing a career that ties my business and creative skills together.
